Harspoon's
About This Spot
Harspoon's on Culebra unfolds like a quietly cherished local secret — a place where the pace slows just enough to savor both the ocean’s bounty and genuine human connection. Nestled comfortably along Luis Muñoz Marín, this fish restaurant and bar exudes a laid-back yet intentional atmosphere that invites you to settle in, relax, and discover the flavors of Puerto Rico through an attentive, unpretentious lens.
There’s a gentle hum here, marked by the clink of glasses and soft conversations weaving through the warm tropical breeze. Friends gather over expertly mixed cocktails that come with stories, while the kitchen hums with the rhythm of fresh catches and familiar recipes passed down and lovingly reinterpreted. It's the kind of place where the outside’s modest charm quietly masks a dining experience that feels both elevated and approachable.
When you’re here, the menu reveals more than just ingredients — it offers a taste of the island’s vibrant culinary heritage and its intimate relationship with the sea. From ceviche that plays bright and light on the palate, to the satisfying crunch of perfectly fried fish, every bite carries a sense of place. Comfortable plates, like creamy mofongo and warm, homemade flan, create moments that linger well after the meal is over.
Behind the food, the heart of Harspoon’s beats in its hospitality. Staff members bring warmth and a touch of humor that makes you feel welcome in that familiar way only a truly local spot can offer. It’s a destination where reservations are wise — not just for the food, but to secure a seat in a space where stories and flavors meet.
For those exploring Culebra, Harspoon’s is a natural waypoint to uncover both fresh, lively seafood and the easy joy of community — a reminder that good dining, at its best, is as much about the people you share it with as the food on your plate.

Wow! This place was amazing. The gem of our 3 weeks trip in PR. Friendly and funny staff Their Moscow Mule was a surprise, the server had a great story to tell about it. You need to make reservations otherwise it will be impossible to get in. Remember to ask for fresh fish, we were delighted with 5 fresh caribbean lobsters.

Good quality, Fresh Fish. When we arrived to Culebra (beautiful island) this place was on our way to our lodging. The outside look of the restaurant doesn't make it justice to the quality of the place. Fish cocktail and fried calamari were pretty good, as well as the Ropa Vieja, but our highlight was the "3-pound" Fried Red Snapper, enough for 3 of us! So tender and well seasoned, only the bones remained! Among other places we tried in this Island, this was one of the best in terms of seafood quality.

This by far is the best restaurant with the best food on culebra. We came back here twice on our stay. We ordered the whole fried fish. The fish that we got the first night was the grouper. It was really a nice white meaty textured fish. It was fried to perfection and crunchiness on the outside while the fish was hot and tender inside. The flavor was very good. We also had the painkiller which was great. The churrasco is delicious had a really good flavor.

Had beans with Jimmy cakes, catch of the day, a couple of pina coladas and dessert. Best pina coladas on the island and the Jimmy cakes were fabulous, the fish was really good too. As we headed back to our villa we found we had a flat, the bar tender got us in touch with the rental co. and back on the road. Outstanding service!

Harspoons was absolutely incredible, don’t miss out on this place. It’s small but that’s what makes it special, the food and flavors were phenomenal. If your looking for top quality service with amazing authentic Puerto Rican food and drinks don’t skip out on Harspoons. Photo - NY Strip x 2, Blackened Shrimp and the Yellow Tail Snapper.

They had specials, the waitress we had was patient and informative. She even offered something not on the menu or special menu “as per the chef” so that means good communication between kitchen and staff. Just compared to other places the Atmosphere isnt anything memorable. They did have black snapper, grouper and red snapper available when we went which was a nice selection!

Tastiest, best food on the island. We started with a basil gimlet and mango mojito -mmmm. The ceviche was some of the best I have ever enjoyed, and, having g lived in Panama and traveled across Central and South America, I can compare it to many other wonderful ceviche dishes lovingly served there. The buffalo cauliflower was spicy - don’t order it if you don’t like very spicy foods. The pumpkin spice tres leches was a perfect finish
